Therapeutic Riverwalk painting

Riverwalk Vision, 14x11 oil
I wasn't having a very good day. To recount it might be to give additional weight to it, so I'll just say I was in the need of happiness. I usually tell people to only paint when they are happy so they won't anchor anything but joy to the experience of painting. Even so, I risked it today and painted to GET happy. It worked for the very most part. 'Playing in the colors' as my sister calls it, really helped me focus on line and shape and color and removed my focus from the other experiences. I didn't have time to fuss much, so I might go back and rework some things later, but for now, I'm grateful for my therapeutic painting time this afternoon.

Hi there, I'm so sorry you had a bad day. The painting is lovely, all of the wonderful colors and the water looks perfect. I think painting should be a happy experience and when I paint I find it hard to think of much else.

It's working for me. Looking at your beautiful painting is making me happy.
Don't let the bad stuff get you down.

Thinking of you and sending all good things.

So sorry you had a "down day" and weren't you wise to paint it away!! Happy colors and I agree with Barb, the water moves! Hope all is well with you now!

Was that why I was "draggy" yesterday? Getting those feelings floating around?

Love this painting. Several years ago, I did the river walk with my daughter. I have great memories of that time.

Hope the Painting Therapy worked for you because it certainly worked for this beauty! Those colors are fabulous and I love the twinkle lights and the way everything recedes toward the bridge and under the canape of trees. Has a really great feeling to it!

Some one said if we dont get any bad days, we'd never appreciate the good ones. Hope your sun comes back again soon. Nice Riverwalk painting Susan.

Funny how that works, huh? Good for you. I have tried to 'paint through' tough times, but I'm so distractible that I veer off into my own mind.
