Beach Diggers, 11x14 oil
I started this painting on Wednesday during the broadcast and all the orange I used was bothering me, so I worked on it for several hours today and like the colors better now.
If you feel like hanging out with me this evening online, I'm going to work on the Sister and Brother painting for a while. Who knows? I may actually finish it up tonight!
Broadcasts then and now...

This is wonderful! I love this painting! It's sweet and refreshing!
I love it Susan. Such wonderful colors and sweet little girls. I'm amazed how you married these two photos together to make one wonderful painting.
Susan, this is precious! You have captured the innocence and quiet intensity of these adorable little ones. Wonderful values and colors. Those reflective areas in the water are just gorgeous.
What touches me most about this is the energy between the older and younger child. The older one looks very confident, knows what she's doing, while the younger one has such a sweet look of intense concentration while honing her new skills. Tells a really lovely story
Hate that I didn't catch your ustream broadcast to watch you lay this beauty in!
Thank you Coffee, Barb and Gwen! This one was definitely not like falling off a log, but there are small areas in this painting that feel like triumphs! So much to learn.....
Great job on this one. Love the story it tells. Nice background, too.
I saw you start this and I am amazed how you put two photographs together and made this beautiful composition.
Fascinating the way you used reference photos from two sources to produce this precious painting. I love everything about it...especially the colors, light and shadows.
Hi Susan,
This is a beauty.
