Painting from online session Tuesday

11 x 14 oil on stretched canvas painted with palette knife

A lot went wrong on the way to broadcasting this week's painting, but we all prevailed and this painting was begun. I have more to go on this one, but thought you might want to see the "so far." www.ustream.tv/channel/susancarlin to see most of the painting of this portrait.

Cool.

But why does the little girl have a palette knife?

Smart alec. I'm surprised at myself, though, for writing it like that. Here's another try... "I'm going to start a commission in oil with a palette knife tonight of a beautiful little girl." Ah. Better.

Hi Susan,

Sorry I couldn't join you. You've been
tagged. Which is probably all you need right now, but I look at your
blog every day, so I had to include you. I suspect you've been double tagged.

Take care,

Barbara

The painting looks wonderful. The palette knife paintings are always so interesting.

This is beautiful. Red can be so overpowering (I love it) but this is lovely. Maybe the palette knife strokes have a part in tempering the red but keeping it lively. Does that make sense?? Anyway, I like it.
