Paintings and Works-in-Progress by Susan Carlin. Commissioned portraits, figures, still life, and the occasional landscape...
Ok, well, I fiddled a bit more on this and like it better now. I wonder about the values being a bit too contrasty on the boat, but you have to stop somewhere and here's the place I'm stopping.
It looks great Susan, I know what you mean about looking at the painting on your computer, it's almost like looking at someone else painting.
Great painting! You chose a complex painting for such a small painting, which is time consuming in itself and I know what you mean about going back and fiddling I do it all the time. I think looking at it later with fresh eyes or on your computer screen makes any flaws pop out. But the end result is an interesting and lovely painting.
Super painting. Brings back old good memories!Sharon
This is great. I think the contrast on the boat pulls the eye back there to keep it moving around the painting. It would be lost otherwise. Nice.
