Jay and Winston, two one-hour oil portraits

These fellows, vacationing from Oklahoma, sat for their portraits today. 8"x10" on canvas panel.

We've had torrential rain off and on yesterday and today- what a relief! It cooled the city down and has given some life to the crispy greenery... which had become mostly brownery over the last few weeks.

A couple of nice looking guys. Brothers?

We got a couple of sprinkles. You were lucky to get rain.

We are off for cooler climes in the a.m. Check in on you soon.

Hi Jo! Yes, I guess I should have said so. 14 years old and almost 8. Happy trails to you! I hope you have a wonderful summer in New Mexico. I'll be watching for news on your blog!

AWWW!!! These two boys are so cute! Their parents must be so happy with the paintings of their sons!

You're just knocking yourself out going and coming. These two are breathing, or have I said that before? Excellent light, fantastic shadow, just plain wonderful.

Thank you, Theresa and Dianne!

I wonder how many people can paint such a wonderful portrait in an hour? Not many I bet. I'll say it again, you're amazing!

Aw, Barbara, thanks. It's always a balancing act with these fast ones. I'm trying to at least get the foundation of the portrait down so I can refine just a bit before time's up. They're more like a quick study, vs. a true portrait, but it does make them affordable for more people. And it makes a memorable experience for them, too.
