Progress on 8x10 girl

I fully intended to participate in Nablopomo's blogroll this month and publish a post every day of April. Here it is April 3rd. Only 15 minutes into the day, but still I've missed two days already.

I want to at least post the progress on this painting of the little girl from the broadcast on Tuesday... I have more still to do on this one and on the one of her brother, but I like what I've done so far.

Hi Susan,

That's the first time I've heard about Nablopomo's blogroll. I think I better join! This painting is lovely.
Can't wait to see the next stage.

Just curious - did you work for a starving artist studio in Ptown in 1982 ? My husband and I had a honeymoon portrait done by a Susan Carlin.

I got to see this today and it's looking great!!

Thank you Barbara, Jo and Regina! I finished both the children up today and the grandparents who commissioned the paintings came in to see them. They've pronounced them good. Ah. Now I've signed them and the drying time begins.

Yes, KZig, I'm the one who painted you. I'd LOVE to see a photo of the portrait, if you don't mind sending it to susan@susancarlin.com
I was in Provincetown for three summers, and painted you on the last summer before I lost my mind and went to chiropractic school. Still can't explain that. So you've been married almost 17 years! Congratulations!

Go figure, for some reason I can't get my computer to read my camera card and I don't have a cord to try it that way. Tomorrow when I visit my mom I'll send it on her computer. The portrait still hangs in our bedroom and looks as good as the day you did it. You took ten years off my life though :) We've been married 27 years ! I painted the bedroom walls yesterday and when I rehung the portrait I noticed your signature and thought "hmmm, I wonder if she's famous???" After looking at your work I'm now even more proud of this possession. I'll send the pic as soon as I can.

Susan, isn't that nice that the grandparents love the paintings and that you found an "old" one!
