This was a fun painting to work on today. I painted this little girl in the second hour of the program, after working further on the one of my sister from last week (below). Of course, now that I've posted the photo of the revised painting, I see an errant brushstroke at the edge of her nose. Ain't that the way? I'll fix that now. I do feel better about the value distribution after another hour on it today.

Thank you, again, to those wonderful artist friends who hung out with me online while I painted. You're the best!

Oh Susan, I absolutely love this painting of the little girl. I went to ustream and watched the recording from today. You make it all look so easy, the way you did her dress even. I know you won't be painting the next couple weeks but please paint again soon. Barb

I love the painting of the little girl too. And I had to study both paintings of your sister to see
what changed. You changed a lot more than the value. The ear, the earring, the colour of the stripe. Then I see the value changes. She looks rosier, the warm colour on the cheek and on the flowers bumps up the cheer in the painting.

Boy you are just so darn good. I
admire your talent and vision so much.

Thank you Barb. I enjoyed painting her. I missed you being there today. How did the art fair go?

Thank you, Barbara M. You know, the one of my sister is one of those paintings you could work on for hours and hours more... or at least I could. Sometimes I just have to get a grip and say, "Next!" Thank you for you kind compliments.

Thanks, Sharon! Did you come back after dinner? I thought you left early on. Or did you go back and watch the recording? Either way, thank you. I'm already looking forward to October 12!

lovely little girl, you have caught her sweet face perfectly and that air of innocence. I didn't think you could improve on your sister's portrait, I thought it was pretty perfect as it was, but I can see the improvements...even better.

I like the edits you made on Patti, gives her more depth. And the little girl is mighty fine. A grand shadow across her upper face, a luscious light on her forehead.
