Sunday Painting

In the company of blogging artist friends and family, this is what I painted between 1 and 3:10 p.m. today. To watch the two video recordings of the session, click HERE.

Thank you to all of you who kept me such good company as I painted!

Don't know if I can live up to your requirements for comments except for the positive reinforcements. :)

This is a great reference and I forgot about the painting, so will have to watch later. :(

Hi Susan,

I caught bits of your video cast
today and loved it. I couldn't join the chat because I was preparing my
notes for tomorrow's classes, vacuuming and washing the floor. But what I did see was amazing, and I especially liked the pace -- how
warm and friendly you are.

Plus you helped me solve a problem
I'm having with a commission.

Thanks for your wonderful work.

Barbara

Awesome work, Susan. I lurked a little, then caught the recording. Your portraits look great at every stage of the process. Thanks for sharing it with us.
p.s. I love the Roches! I saw them perform a lifetime ago.

Susan, this is truly lovely - one of my favorites of yours. I love the crisp edges on the profile and the sense of light!

When I opened your blogsite tonight my intial response was WOW! Lovely, lovely portrait!

I enjoyed my recent discovery of your blog so much that I want to share it with everybody - to that end I am passing along the Arte-y-Pico award; you can read more about it on my site (Sept. 6 post) and pass it along it you choose -

Thanks,

Terry

Susan, thank you so much for another wonderful demonstration. I learn so much from you every time I watch you paint. You are so gracious and generous with your knowledge. Always enjoyable!

Thank you again Susan, I really love this portrait. You have worked hard to be where you are and you are amazing. Must feel great to look from the reference to your painting and know that you nailed it.

Susan, the first thing that popped out at me is that gorgeous light on her jaw and ear and how it strolls down her neck onto her shoulders, saunters over to the flower, then the hair, leaps her forehead and nose, then lip... I feel cheated to have missed your broadcast today, but I will watch the videos later this afternoon.

Susan -

Sorry I had to dash off yesterday before the session was done. The painting turned out great. It's a pleasure to watch you paint.

Ok, now, See? This kind of talk is only encouraging me. I may be turning on the camera every time I paint because you sweet artists hang out with me and then say nice things later, too!
Thank you, All.

A very good painting - hard to believe you did it in such a short time. A sprint painter.

Your painting turned out better than the photo. I think the light you put on the side of her face is incredible! I had so much fun watching you paint her. Thanks for another great Sunday treat!
