Sunday's Painting... my sister Patty

Patty came for coffee this morning and I hadn't chosen a reference for today's online painting, so I asked her to pose for some photos. I really enjoyed painting this today. Thank you to you wonderful folks who hung out with me for those two hours!

Love the golden skin tones and violets picking up the shadowed areas. I really like that you used the glasses in this portrait, too.

2 Hours for this? Fantastic. I can barely paint one piece of fruit in that time! I love the riches of the skin tone you achieved, too.

I agree... what an amazing piece...

Well you can certainly tell y'all are sisters ;-) So sorry I missed another on-line painting session. That is usually the time of day that I'm visiting with my folks if I don't see them on Saturday.

The painting turned out great. What does Patty think of it?

Hi Susan! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! I wouldn't have missed your painting session if I could have helped it! I'll also be missing next sunday, as well....

I love the way the couple portrait is coming along - the skin tone is so fresh and real! You are an amazing artist!

Thank you, Laura, for appreciating me intensifying some of the colors I saw, and for leaving the glasses in. Patty just got them and I think they're cool. Everybody, go check out Laura's amazing portraits on her blog... incredible.

Thank you, Kelley! I know, I'm speedy. I tend to slow down when no one's around, and paint like the devil when I have company. Weird, I know.

Thank you, Sylvia!

Thank you, Karen! Patty and I hear we look alike all the time, but don't see it so much ourselves. I'm sure it's true, though.
If you ever want to see what I was doing while you were visiting with your folks, all the recordings are there on my show page.

Thank you, Theresa! I missed you there on Sunday, I have to say. Your work is so inspiring. Love the painting you did of Karin Jurick's dog, Jack.

love this portrait and the bold brush strokes and use of color on the skin tones, I'm really fed up I can't watch you paint cos of my slow internet! I have learned so much from you.

Susan, these Sunday paintings are fabulous - both last week and this week's paintings are incredible. I'll be watching the video once I get a chance. Your color choices, bold broad strokes...definitely the sort of thing I aim for!

Hi Susan,

This is a beauty. I tried to
write a comment telling you
so yesterday, but for some reason
couldn't get it to post.

Anyway. You continue to inspire me.

First time I have watched your video on portraits. I love your palette of colours, I would like to know which ones you mixed. Sharon is painting my son right now! I thought when you were fiddling around at the end you would spoil a great portrait but your intuition was correct, it became an even better one.

Omigosh. I'm so far behind in acknowledging everyone's wonderful comments. Please forgive me. Thank you Diana, Rose, Bill? Lisa?, Theresa, Barbara M., Paula, Pete, Robin, and Carolann!

I didn't get to join you, but I sure do like this painting. The pose is great, and the light is wonderful too!
