Closing in on the portrait of man and his horse...

I'm inching up on this one. Some details left to do- maybe an hour or two's painting, if I'm guessing right.

I'd hoped to also work on the Peruvian girl's background today, but the moon must be in Mars' armpit today. Everything was wonky and all efforts thwarted.

Here I'm giving this blog workshop for artists on Saturday and I've been neglecting my blog and my bloggy friends all week due to all the preparation. Something about guests coming to one's house makes one FREAKED OUT!

Hi, Susan -

Love the Peruvian girl, and your self-portrait. Can't wait to see the finish on the horse commission. And hey, to put your weekend blog workshop in perspective - at least you aren't broadcasting the whole thing on Ustream! Best of luck....

I love that horse's sweet face. And I can feel the man's joy and affection. Just beautiful!

I really like the depth of this painting, the horse's nose really comes forward!

Good luck with your workshop!

"...moon must be in Mars' armpit..." I'm still laughing! Monday at our house started out that way and it's been like a crab trying to walk like a lobster all week, so maybe your analogy is a scientific fact.

Man and horse looking more refined all the time. Another great "Carlin shadow" on the Peruvian Girl's face.

Good luck with the workshop, though I've no doubt it will be super fantastic.

Nothing like company to make you want to clean house.

Looking good Susan - he will be so pleased I'm sure.

LOL - your "moon must be in Mars' armpit" and Dianne's "crab trying to walk like a lobster" - I love it - made my week better!

I was going to try to get down there for your blog workshop but car repairs took priority - oh well. Have a great one.

It's all looking very good, Susan! I love the colors in the Peruvian girl. The sweetness of it pulls at your heartstrings! The man and horse are so alive looking! You will rock their socks off on Saturday. My trip begins tomorrow. I really look forward to the opportunity to do ART for the next 10 days!
