Irish Gate, oil 8" x 10" Sold

Several rascals dared me to paint a landscape last night on the broadcast, so this small oil resulted. It's romantic , isn't it? I took the reference photos for this on my first evening in Ireland, walking in Ballycastle looking for internet access. Didn't find a place to connect, but took photo after photo of charming sights like this one.
Thank you, sweet friends, again for heckling me, I mean encouraging me to paint this.

This is a super painting, I enjoyed watching you paint some of it and learned a few things along the way, which is always good! I like the way you varied the greens and did your interpretation of the ref photo adding flower spikes etc.

This is sweet Susan. Repeat after me, "I am an excellent landscape painter" lol and you are!

Oh gosh, Diana and Barbara. You two are good for me. Is it really just a lack of confidence? Maybe once I've painted a few dozen more landscapes, I'll have more of it.
Thank you for keeping me company on the journey. XXOO

This is really nice. I bet you wish it was Irish weather today in SA

Romantic it is! And beautiful! Wish I could have watched you paint this one. I especially like your roses, your sky holes, and your gate!

Hi Susan,

The lush growing greens are very romantic, coupled with the formal gate.

Super.

This is gorgeous Susan. I knew you could do it! Now I want to see you paint more landscapes. And throw in a few sheep while you're at it, lol....
